Akt-ooOO-bur!

smallpumpkinFor those who don’t know, Pajama Forest has a pretty awesome Facebook club. All the Facebook pals have access to sneak previews and other cool artsie things I post up! Check it out, all the cool people are :D

Some changes to the site, I’ve updated the “New Reader” and “Stuff” pages with some cool stuff (A FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER!!), those pages were kinda lacking = but NO LONGER! Check em out if you like, links at the top of the page. Also the comment section of each strip has a fancy new “Reply” feature, wow!

Other stuff, my wife and I carved us up some pretty sweet punkins! The church here was having some sort of contest so I threw my hat into the ring. The competition didn’t turn out too well for us, we got there late and pretty much everybody already voted. Ah well, dems the breaks. We had a blast making them anyway (note: the inside of pumpkins are totally gross >.< ). Click the little picture to see a bigger image and the wife’s punkin.

picture-28A cool webcomic YOU should be reading? Well I’ve got one for you! Dan Long’s Edmund Finney’s Quest to Find the Meaning of Life. There aren’t a whole lot of comics I read regularly or can recommend heartily, but this one I definitely can. It’s an ongoing story about a dude named Edmund and his adventures in trying to find the meaning of life (go figure!). I’d definitely start from the beginning since the strip is very smartly written and hilariously drawn. I heartily recommend you follow Mr. Long and his awesome comic/blog at EqComics.com.

Finally BIG thanks to everybody who has been stumbling the strips! Every single thumbs up helps out more than you know (digg and Reddit are pretty nice too if you do that). Even if you don’t have a Stumble Upon account and you want to help, you can sign up for one pretty easily. I post su.pr links on my twitter thing to make voting on Stumble Upon super easy, again I really really appreciate it and it helps a TON :D

Married, Sneak Previews, TNP, and a Guest Strip!

robotBack from getting hitched, after a long-ish break from the old routine, scrounging up guest strips and updating sporadically…I’m really back. Getting used to the whole, “being married” thing, but it’s nice. She’s giving me tons of material (inadvertently) so much so that I’m planning on making the “Semi-True Tales” thing a regular feature. Every once in awhile we’ll take a break from August and pals and give you all a semi-true glimpse into my life :D

facebook_footerSome cool (new) news, if you’d like to get a sneak peek of the strips before everybody else, check out the Pajama Forest Facebook page, I’ll be posting sneaky peeks of every strip a day or two before it’s ever published! Come and speculate on what could possibly happen next. FUN! :D

Look for some cool stuff in the “Stuff” section. It’s been laying fallow for a while but I’d like to put it to use. Maybe make some of the more popular strips or panels into wallpapers and possibly put some other freebies and cool things in there. Requests are welcome :D

Cool stuff happening at TNP (the webcomic collective I’m a part of). With a fresh new site redesign and new features we’re set to make the TNP site a real hub of all of our strips. The center piece of the new site redesign is this fancy new chat dealie. A bunch of us comic artists hang out in there from time to time, talk shop, shoot the wind, whatever. We’ll tweet whenever we hop on the chat thing so you know when to join in if you’re into that kind of thing. Stop by see what we’re talking about and stuff.

Finally, I made a guest strip for a fellow webcomiker (Jeff Schuetze of JEFBOT fame), be sure and check it out; there’s a robot in it :D

Some strips from a little while ago have been edited for content since they were conveying something that I certainly didn’t mean to or even really realize. Ingesting things you ought not isn’t funny or safe and it’s not something I condone. I’m sorry to anyone who got the wrong idea.

It’s happening…

knotHeyo folks,

I was very busy this weekend (video games) and didn’t end up having enough time to do a proper blog post, but better late than later I guess. I’m getting married next week so if anyone has done a guest strip for me, now would be a great time to get them to me. If you were planning on doing a little something, it’d probably be a good time to get on that, I’ll be more or less out of commission for a few weeks, so I’ll need all the help I can get :)

I’ll have my laptop with me so I’ll do what I can to continue to update regularly while I’m away; however, after this week, Pajama Forest will move to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday update schedule. Sucks, I know, but between all my obligations here I just won’t have the time to do a quality strip every day, hope you guys understand. If/when things settle back down I fully plan on going back to updating as frequently as my crazy schedule will let me (3x/day maybe?).

picture-18I also wanted to thank everyone who has been supporting the strip. I read every single comment that you guys leave, even if I don’t comment back (though I try to), I get such a big kick out of them :D If you like the strip please take a second and toss me a thumbs up on Stumble Upon or Reddit or whatever, it helps me out a great deal. Whats in it for you? I’ll totally be your pal. Sounds like a deal to me!

Webcomic of Awesomeness for this week is another one of my favs. It goes by the name of The Abominable Charles Christopher. Author & artist Karl Kerschl says, “The Abominable Charles Christopher follows the adventures of a dim-witted yeti through a forest full of colourful animal characters.” But let me tell you, there is a lot more to it than that, under the beautifully drawn surface lies even more beautifully crafted characters and stories. It updates Wednesdays, I love Wednesdays because of this strip :D

Finally, an amazing video.

News in the Hot Hot Heat

picture-16Woo, it sure is hot here in Texas in the middle of the summer. Lots of cool stuff happening this summer too (see what I did there? hah!). If you didn’t know, I am getting married at the end of the month :D So, I’m gonna be in need of some guest strips, or other art since I won’t have time to update five days a week like normal = I’ve already got a bunch of awesome artists lined up to help out in my absence, and if you’d like to throw your proverbial hat in to ring let me know! evandiaz(at)gmail.com

picture-17In other news, Pajama Fan Shay Badeau made some sweet fan art (literally!). Enjoy Officer Tastypants and the General like you never have before, in delicious 3D! Clickie for the full version.

The Webcomic of Awesomeness this week is one by the name of “You’ll Have That” by super awesome cartoonist (with an equally awesome name) Wes Molebash. It is a strip about a young married couple, Andy and Kate and their shenanigans as a young married couple. Brilliantly written and beautifully drawn, it is one of my favorites (and there aren’t a lot of those). Lots of “laugh out loud squirm in delight” moments, as well as “awww” moments. It had my rapt attention beginning to end (nearly brought a tear to my eye at the end there… *sniff*) Be sure you start reading from the beginning too!
