A year or so later, things have settled down, I’m now able to work from home and my current job is great, so much so that I don’t really have to worry about making any money with the webcomic any longer, and I can really just refocus on the things I really want to do artistically.

That said, I have a story I want to tell; however, the direction Pajama Forest has taken isn’t what I ultimately want to do. I really like some of what I’ve been able to do but because I never really planned out any sort of story or direction or anything it became confusing and just didn’t mean as much as I felt it should.

So. I’ve been working really hard launching a new site and direction for my new webcomic AugustLovesMay.com, which will be my new creative outlet to keep developing my writing and artistic skills from getting rusty. In the meantime, I am also working on something else very secret (a graphic novel). I won’t say much more of that right now for fear of jinxing it or something :)

Thanks for your patience while I got all this hacking stuff sorted out, it’s been a real pain for me so I’m glad to finally have it behind me. Expect the site to slowly get back to it’s pretty ol’ self AND semi-regular updates should resume soonish too!

The storyline continues in today’s silent strip :) If your forgot we’re in a flashback of sorts exploring Lola and August’s past. I have the story all basically planned out but it’s so demanding artistically I’m a little intimidated by it and have been putting it off :

So rather than putting it off forever (I really want to get it done), I’ll just be taking it in chunks – interspersing the storyline throughout other strips.

Onward!

I tell you, I don’t think I could make this stuff up. Sometimes all I have to do is just write down whatever my wife says and more times than not, it ends up making it into a comic, she’s great like that :)

I don’t know how other comics artists do it. . .

If your wife is anything like mine, her favorite game is also: “Would you still love me if. . .”  Husbands, try this one out, it’ll teach ‘em a lesson >:D

Theres really something about growing up hmm…For me the moment I sort of realized I was no longer a kid was when I started buying cereal, not based on the amount of marshmallows or frostedness, but when I started looking at the fiber content at the main selling point :)
