just yesterday, for the first time, I visited a store that sells nerdy/geeky collectibles and I totally surprised myself by how nuts I went over the Star Trek and Babylon 5 action figures. ^_^ (but I don’t think my love of Trek and B5 is much of a secret to my friends, since I quote them right and left, B5 especially. I can’t help it, it’s just so quotable. *sheepish*)

I not-so-secretly love cell biology. Like how everything inside one of your cells works. All of those microscopic little things moving in such a way that makes it so that you are who you are.

I play Pokemon. Can’t help it. I’ve loved it since I was a kid in the 90′s when red and blue came out. :P

I still have all my old D&D dice… all seven sets… plus countless pipped six-siders bought for the express purpose of flinging at the DM when he acted like a goit.

As for one of the nerdy things I do, I looooooooooove to watch Sci-Fi movies. The effects are JUST SO AWESOME.

I taught myself recreational mathematics that are senior college level for fun my freshman year of HS.

My math teacher was really impressed, but I dont really know why. it wasn’t like…. idk, calculus or something where you have special pre-reqs for understanding it.

My girlfriend and I LARP, and not even by the rules, we just pick out two ‘characters’ and then act. Our friends can tell when we slip in and out of character and make fun of us for it :D We also play D&D, Tons of videogames, and play Yu-Gi-Oh on occasion. I love my nerdy-as-heck girl :3

My boyfriend and I play Magic: The Gathering, and various MMORPG’s (WoW is one of them, but it got to be a bit too expensive so we’re not playing it right now). Pokemon’s pretty awesome too. Oh, and Aliyah, I agree: Doctor Who is the best show ever!!

When my fiance likes what I’m wearing, or saying, or doing, he’ll rate it on a D&D scale. My new glasses gave me a +20 in Intelligence and +15 Charisma. We’re also suckers for a Pixar flick. . . and we like to watch cheezy SyFy Channel movies together!

My girlfriend and I both go on a pain managment site for our chronic pain and the entire site loves our cuteness, we don’t get to do a lot of stuff due to pain limititing us butttttt we do other stuff.
I’ll sign onto her account and write something cheesy and she’ll sign onto mine and do the same” She’ll leave me cute messages to wake up to and I for her.
She secretly loves how much of a nerd I am!

I never did get into star trek or babylon 5, If I ever had the chance to watch them from the beginning I’d probably totally get really into them… Maybe someday hulu will run those…I did enjoy like Firefly on Hulu and I’m also really into Naruto (that show is actually really good since I finally gave it a chance).

Geeky things my fiancée and I do: Change our schedules at work so we have more time to watch *anime* together, play rpg’s tag-team style (we switch off who controls every half our or hour), speaking of tag teams we are totally wrestling geeks (just got back into it about a year ago), we have budgeted in our manga purchases every month, and she supports my dream to try to get into the roleplaying industry.

Geeky things I’m trying to get her to do: Play card games! (I have a ton of MtG and YuGiOh cards just sitting around, I’ve been collecting MtG since beta… god I’m old), play tabletop roleplaying games! (my wall of D&D, WoD, and Exalted calls to me at night…), and get her to join me at an anime convention!

I’m a closest nerd( I hide my level of nerdiness). But my husbands a total nerd and I think he could sense it in me. When we were dating he introduced me to Soul Calibur on the cube, a nice button smashing ” she has no idea how to hold the controller, but she’ll think she’s awesome if she accidentally smashes out a combo move”. It totally worked. I love playing board and video games with him because he explains the rules to me and then is nice enuf to not totally slaughter me at the game until I’m good enuf to possibly slaughter him :) Besides Soul Calibur, we love playing halo together and board games like small world and the munchkin series :) He just recently introduced me to Starcraft… I haven’t rendered a verdict yet, but I think I like it.

If you’re into anime, I highly suggest One Piece. ^_^

mid-level anime nerd here. only a semi-secret though. Favorite anime goes to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (such a mouthful), with One Piece pulling in a close second.

I’m 21 years old and I recently bought Pokémon HeartGold. My girlfriend doesn’t know I’ve got it.

I’m 54 years old and enjoying the out of my Pokémon HG. I got hooked on Pokémon last year when my wife was having knee surgery – I borrowed a friend’s GBA and Fire Red to play and got completely hooked.

But I think I can out nerd many of you – one of my favorite games is Chess! With real chess men and a real board – no electronics!

I don’t entirely suggest you keep up with Naruto.. there are a lot more interesting ones that have yet to be discovered (same with onepiece.) You’d have to think about the genre you like best and the kind that are really popular always end up confusing you or doing things that don’t make sense. Naruto for example is rather odd because it’s good…. but the plot has gone to hell. Same with Onepiece (but I love it anyway) and Bleach. (I devoted six months just to onepiece anime/manga and bleach anime/manga and was not happy with the recent chapters.)

not happy with the recent chapters of either? I’ve semi-lost interest in Bleach, but I’m still quite enjoying OP. They’ve been slow ones true enough, but with all that’s been happening, I’m not complaining.

I actually like baby toys. :D I also kinda like certain manga. But most of the manga I’ve seen is really trashy. Like, as in not appropriate for a pretty young thing like me XD If you guys are really geeks, you should check out the webcomic Axe Cop. It’s written by a five year old and drawn by a twenty-something year old. It is really hilarious!

A non-secret love? Pokemon. I hide it around my friends, but around my brother, I totally go crazy, like whenever he and I are in a rather sillly mood, I go up to him and say “Nora used Poke! It’s super effective!” and he’d respond with “Edgar used fist-in-the-face! It’s super effective!” lol.

Bleh….I really can’t the art style of that show. It’s like a random assembly of body parts and characters. It really turned me off to the show before I could ever give it a chance. I might be able to be convinced because I know some guys who like it but I don’t have high hopes for it…

I did watch the Deathnote series, it had some bad parts but over all was a great thriller/crimey show that oddly had me rooting for the ‘bad’ guy. Some others I’ve seen I wish I hadn’t…anime is strange how hit and miss it is :\

I LOVED Firefly, and I’m so pissed that they will never continue the series, I watched the movie before I knew there was a series, but the series is just made of awesomeness :)
I have 7 seasons of Star Trek, the ones with Captain Janeway, but I prefer the ones with Captain Picard, I’m also a huge fan of an anime called Code Geass, I cried at the end because I was completely inside the story

I don’t totally understand what you mean there, but like you, i originally dismissed the show. When i finally gave it a shot, i was shocked by how good it was. Trust me when i say that dismissing it based on it premise or its art style alone would be a bad idea. But for the love of , if you do decide to look into it, make sure to find it subbed and not dubbed. They utterly.ruined it in translation

Hey if your into anime, I recommend Katekyo Hitman Reborn. It’s pretty good.

anime tends to have something for everyone. you can’t expect to like all of it, but everyone has something in it that they’ll like if they give it a chance.

another interesting anime is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. its also a sort of mystery-ish type story, but its excessively more violent. like, uncomfortable violent. :/ the excessive violence aside, it has a very interesting story with a rather unique twist added to it. if you can handle the violence, highly recommended.

My wife and I love to play video games together. Specifically ones like Fable. We’re looking forward to the release of Fable III soon, so we can play it from the start together (I was already 3/4 through Fable II before she got it), and marry each other in-game!

For anime, I strongly suggest Cowboy Bebop. Been around a while, but it has everything. Violence, comedy, romance, lovably flawed characters, wicked awesome bad guys, and pretty amazing music as well.

Firefly is AMAZING. But I am a complete Whedonite… and Buffy is hands-down my favorite ever. So cheesy and nerdy.
