Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Gramps is gonna try and take Lola from August?

Your getting really good with making clouds. These ones are all dark and ominous, like there’s a storm brewing. It really highlights Augusts anguish. Also I like what you did with the speech bubbles in this one. Lookin’ Good!

Because in past strips, she’s been crazy! Knowing August’s name without him telling her…riding around in a hot air balloon for no reason.

If this was the only strip with Lola in it that you’d ever seen you would think August was the crazy one. There’s nothing crazy about this strip unless you have the background information.

Lola had better NOT actually be the girl from the park. I’d have some serious (and specific) issues with it if she was. I love this comic, and I like both of them, but they can’t be the same person. Among other things, I think it would be pretty anticlimactic. And Gramps isn’t going to steal Lola! He just likes her, like we do. And I just love August in the second panel! Why’d it change from “Stop!” to “Stop it!”?

Oh, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. It’s going to be hilarious, especially since this is Grampa’s first Lola encounter and he’ll think August is a lunatic. XD
I’m just saying that this is a perfectly acceptable social thing to do, if you aren’t a certifiably insane stalker.

I was referring to past strips, is what I mean to say. In general, based on her appearance in the past strips, she is proven to be not all there. THAT is what I was meaning…that her and Gramps meeting won’t end well because she proven to be crazy in the past. A stalker, if you will.

Hope that clears up what I meant, because I couldn’t put it into any more Laman’s terms if I tried.

And yes…hopefully people have read the past strips, otherwise they wouldn’t understand anything. I’ve read past strips, I assume you have too. Therefore, I’m referring to past strips and how she was in them.

I have a new theory. Lola is a robot who has been sent from the future to destroy kites, hence she only appears when August has his kite.

When I first read it, it threw me off a little. I was expecting “Stop it!”, but after hearing my sister read the strip aloud and now that it’s gone, I think I actually prefer it as “Stop!”. Just saying.
