*ugh* yeah this morning one of my coworkers pointed out that Randall Munroe (the xkcd guy) did a gag with a guy climbing a kite a while back… It’s obviously different and of curse I didn’t intend to copy anyone’s work, but still annoying. I’ve had this story in mind for a long time = I might change things up now, I might not. I don’t know…

The thing too Evan is that XKCD has so many simple ideas that if anyone expands on them or comes close to the idea, people jump on top of it as plagarism. I wouldn’t worry about it and just go where ever you wanted to take your story. Your art is so different and more elaborate that I don’t think it matters.

I have home board game named Marco Polo and idea is collect one Chinese invention (secrets) and return Venice. There is secrets of making paper and fireworks for example. One of the secrets were “How to build One Man’s Kite”, kite large enough to lift off a man.
